Following my graduation from the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich in 1987 as a civil engineer, I focused my career on structural design for several years.
My professional work has involved advocating for technology and science, equal opportunities, and affordable housing. I am convinced that construction culture is closely linked to both architectural quality and the balance between nature and society. I became involved in politics because of my consistent, cross-sectoral approach commitment. I became involved in politics because of my consistent, cross-sectoral approach commitment.
For the past three years, I have served as a member of the Lugano municipal council, which oversees the Architectural Heritage Department, which deals with the city's built environment. My attention is focused on many construction projects, which range from renovating old buildings to large construction sites, such as the newest city's sports centre. I am always mindful of environmental and social aspects, such as the use of public spaces for all. Similarly, as both a politician and engineer, I understand the importance of our actions upon the new generations. Therefore, I am dedicating more and more time to disseminating knowledge.
